Kibra 2017 Parliamentary aspirant Eliud Owalo has urged parents to spend the last coin they have in the education of their children as education is the greatest and most significant investment a parent can bestow on a child.
He spoke early in the week during a tour of various primary schools in Lindi and Laini Saba Wards of Kibra Constituency where he engaged 2016 KCPE candidates in brief pep talk as they prepared to sit their national examinations which began on Tuesday. Owalo also urged parents not to discriminate in the education of their children irrespective of gender so that all children get equal opportunities to exploit their potential.
The fiery Nairobi politician said he was encouraged by the determination and resilience shown by the students from Kibra who despite learning in difficult circumstances, often perform well enough to gain marks required for transition to secondary school.
During the tour, Owalo visited Kicoshep Primary School, Pafu Primary School, Kibera Church of God and Children Centre, Glory Primary School, St Martins Primary and Kisumu Ndogo Primary School.
